Perhaps you used to dream of winning the lottery. Maybe you fantasized about finding oil in your backyard, or becoming the big winner of a game show. After a few years of thinking like this, you have now come to the conclusion that your chances of earning money without effort are slim to none. Bottom-line, there is no get rich quick scheme that works, and earning income will require a trade-off of hours. However, from experience, I can also tell you that trading hours for dollars on your own schedule and being able to work from home on tasks you enjoy, will provide much more satisfaction and content than a "regular" job.
I come from a family of Wander's. Seriously, the last name was Wander, and I think the name was derived by personality. My first job out of college was for a direct mail software company; during the years that internet was just becoming a small phenomenon. Five years working in marketing, direct mail and online management, taught me more than I ever learned in school. I was actually getting paid to learn! Every experience offers one an opportunity, and I took advantage of it.
However, at the same time, I was starting a family and becoming dissatisfied with my rigid work schedule. Although this great company offered great benefits and a salary, it did not come with the desired flexibility I yearned.
The scariest thing I had ever done in my life (up to that point) was to make the decision to walk away. I didn't really have a plan, but I went for it anyways. I became self-employed.
Fast forward twelve years to the present. I've spent most of my time self-employed, with another stint working for a large online software company for a couple of years. My decision to join the workforce a second time was to get up to speed with online direct marketing, and once again get paid while I learned. I've had ups and downs owning and operating several small businesses, and have solidified my decision to "walk away" as the best one I ever made.
I'm not going to lie, I've made a lot of mistakes. I've also learned from those mistakes and have fervently tried not to repeat them. I work from home, I earn income from home, and I love living my own dream by staying at home. My husband and I aren't filthy rich, but we are also very comfortable in a large house with four daugthers running around. We have flexibility to go to every soccer game, track meet, and kindergarten play we want to. We can take a break from our desks in the middle of the day to walk to the grocery store or visit with an old friend. We have the time to travel and track our businesses wherever we go.
I'm not going to promise you either that you will become rich working from home. But I do promise to share what I've learned, and more importantly, what not to do. The purpose of this website is to share these stories and offer information on opportunities that my work for you. Disclosure: some of the work-from-home opportunities or products I recommend do offer affiliate payouts. I provide information on services and products I have personally found useful with my own business management and revenue opportunities.
